How Best to Cover an Angle Top Window

Do you have windows that are specialty shapes such as angle top or trapezoidal? Then this blog post is for you!

Angle tops are very common and we get a lot of phone calls about them. Some shy away from selecting window shades that sit inside the window frame due to cost. However, it is a special look for a special type of window and styling it appropriately can be well worth the cost. Many of our clients are thrilled with the finished product and are happy they made the decision to work with the shape of the window rather than simply put a shade outside the window frame, resulting in a boxy window covering.

A popular design choice is the honeycomb shade that is cut to the specific measurements of the window and goes up to the very top of the angle and also goes down completely. This can be expensive. However there are less expensive options available.

One option is shutters that are cut to the angle of the window as is shown in the following video:

Not only are these shutters beautiful, but they are functional as well. The shutter louvers open and close all the way to the angle point, giving good light control as well as access to the view outside. Combined with cost effectiveness this is a great solution for a shaped window. You have the option to motorize the shutters, however, that will add on to the price as there is technology involved. In the video this client chose a manual solution.
