What's Old is New Again! Welcome to "Nowtro"

We've all heard of "Retro" but have you heard of “Nowtro”? It's something that was retro, (things from the past) but now it's current and on-trend. In the fashion world we've seen evidence of this:

Low-rise jeans, now: Hi-rise jeans.

Skinny Jeans, now: flare jeans

capri pants, or peddle pushers, now crop jeans, or wide leg crop pants or jeans

The same is true in the world of interior design. Sometimes older styles make a big come-back for example drapes, and curtains. Certain styles of blinds and shades come and go as well. We once saw mini-blinds as the go-to window covering in the 1980s. These gave way to the 2-inch wood blind. Certain top treatments have recently come back onto the scene such as cornice boxes, swag treatments and Roman shades. Within the family of Roman shades there are many different variations. In the video below we show the Austrian shade as an example as a true classic window shade.

The fullness of of this fabric is at about 3 1/2 times it's length, giving a luxurious look and posh feel to the room. If you have a home that reflects the Victorian Age or like the classic beauty of this type of shade then you will be completely happy adding Austrian shade to any window of any room. This style of shade achieves the luxurious, yet comfortable ambiance you are looking for.
